On August 1, 2008, the formal inauguration of the MNSF Kasturba Nager project was completed. Usha Narayane with her team of women began their vocational training for income generation. About 150 women from Self Help Groups and other women from the locality were present for the function. Government recognized computer trainings began, and entrepreneuership development motivational workshops were organized, which included categories of dress designing and garments manufacturing; catering; bakery, food and milk processing; and computer trade. Over 200 beneficiaries participated in these motivation workshops. During the workshops, individuals were interviewed and able to choose the trade they were most interested in learning, and were prepped to begin a six-month training process. The women also participated in "exposure visits" to a dress designing and garment manufacturing center, and a catering business in Nagpur. The women observed the working systems of the factory and business preparation methods, and were able to experience first-hand the strategies each business employs.
