Tanzanian Children's Village Received $11,000 Grant

The M. Night Shyamalan Foundation has awarded the Tanzanian Children's Fund a grant in the amount of $11,350 to help send children to secondary school. The Tanzanian Children's Fund was established to aid the orphaned children of Tanzania, and works in parternship with registered NGO's, nonprofit organizations, and others to provide financial and intellectual support to programs designed to improve the lives of children in need.

Tanzania has one of the lowest secondary school enrollment rates in Africa and the world: only 1 in 5 children are able to continue education past the 7th grade. The Tanzanian Children's Fund is currently sponsoring 33 students in secondary school and one student in University studying Law. With the grant from the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation, the Tanzanian Children's Fund will sponsor another six of the brightest and most motivated students from their area, enabling them to attend secondary school and increasing the breadth of opportunity available to them in their future lives.
